Scooter Exhibition Opens – 21st May
Scooters: British Born, Italian Matured, Adopted by a Rebellious Youth. The exhibition highlights the birth of the scooter through to its ‘Mods’ adoption in the 60s. Conceived originally as a ‘step through’, small wheeled motorcycle for ladies and casual users and largely forgotten in the 30’s and 40’s the motor scooter went on to resurrect the devastated Italian transport Industry post WW2. By the time the austere 1950’s were being played out the Scooter had gained ‘chic’ status all over Europe. In the 60’s a UK group of youthful fashionista’s known as ‘Mods’ took the scooter as their transport of choice. The scooter in all its guises has assumed cult status.

to enter please send your details toThe rules for this year’s championship are to ride your scooter (of any make) to every National Scooter Rally and get the chance to win free insurance, cash prize, a beautiful trophy to keep, Tucano Urbano bike jackets (solos), and other goodies too that we’re still working on!
The categories are as always, Best Supporting Male, Best Supporting Female and Best Supporting Club, and signing on takes place on the Saturday morning ONLY of each rally, usually at the Lexham Insurance stand.
To enter all we need is your name and address (including postcode) and what scooter you’re riding.
There are 10 BSRA national scooter rallies this year and your mileage is calculated from your house to the centre of rally town and believe it or not – as previous winners have shown - wherever you live in the UK you have a chance of winning, and we’re making it more equal this year too as for the first time you can select your best eight from the ten rallies to maximize your mileage. This means if you can’t attend all 10 you’re still in with a chance, or alternatively if you have two rallies on your doorstep then you can choose to drop them from your final end of year total.
All entries must be with us by 31st March 2015 please.
